The Nighttime Quartet

The Nighttime Quartet is a contemporary jazz ensemble specializing in original compositions by guitarist and leader Matt Hollander. Influenced by major jazz composers such as Vijay Iyer, Kenny Wheeler, and Wayne Shorter, Matt has written over 65 pieces for jazz small group exploring innovative musical textures, harmonies, and time signatures. This music is also informed by Matt's work at UW-Madison, where he is a PhD candidate in sociology studying language and social interaction.
